UK Customers

UK orders weighing less than 5kg can be sent via Royal Mail. Customers can choose from Second Class or First Class Signed-For (orders weighing up to 2kg only). According to Royal Mail, 93% of mail sent First Class is delivered the next working day. Second Class mail generally takes 2-4 working days to be delivered. Cut off times for posting on the same day as the order is received is generally 12pm, though if you do need your order urgently, please contact us before ordering.

A courier option is also available to you at checkout. This may be more cost effective if your order is very large or heavy, or if you need your order urgently. Most UK courier orders are shipped via UPS, but we may use other reputable carriers at our discretion. Very large and heavy orders are shipped via pallet. These orders may take longer to process than smaller orders.

We make sure to use services that provide adequate compensation in the unlikely event of loss of damage in the post.

Non UK Customers

We offer worldwide shipping to selected countries at very competitive rates, using a range of reputable carriers. We currently ship to the UK, all EU countries except Spain, Italy and Malta, plus Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the USA. If you live in a country other than those listed, please feel free to Contact Us regarding the possibility of shipping to your country.

Non UK packages are dispatched by Royal Mail International Tracked (orders weighing less than 2kg) or Courier delivery (orders weighing over 2kg).

Royal Mail delivery within Western Europe usually takes 1-2 weeks, Eastern Europe 2-3 weeks, and the rest of the world 2-4 weeks. Packages sent by Royal Mail Tracked are insured up to the value of £50. A tracking reference is provided when the order is shipped. We will always ensure your package is adequately insured and will include your tracking reference in the confirmation email we send you.

Courier services are available for larger or heavier orders (over 2kg), or if you need your order more urgently. We use 5 main carriers; DHL, DPD, FedEx, TNT and UPS. Orders sent internationally usually take 3-7 working days to be delivered. A signature is required on delivery and your package is adequately insured against loss or damage.

Very large and heavy orders are shipped via pallet. These orders may take longer to process than smaller orders.

EU Customers

Due to the UK’s exit from the EU, and the end of the transition period, from 1 January 2021, VAT is charged when the package(s) reaches your country, and before delivery. VAT is charged at your country’s standard VAT rate. There is also a fee for the courier to collect this tax, which is usually around 10-20 euros.

If you are a VAT registered business, you can reclaim the VAT as input VAT on your tax return, but not the fee paid to the courier. If you are not a VAT registered business, this tax and charge will still be payable, but cannot be reclaimed. Taxes and charges must be paid before packages are delivered. The courier company will contact you with the bill, and instructions on how to make payment.

Orders shipped via Royal Mail may be declared as a gift, which may mean that VAT and the delivery agent’s fee is not payable. We cannot guarantee this, but will do our best to keep costs down to our customers as much as possible.

Please be aware of the potential extra costs when making your order, and if you are not willing to pay these costs, please do not make the order. Mylar Shop will be responsible for return postage costs on orders sent overseas where the extra costs are not paid, and if the package is returned due to the receiver failing to pay the extra taxes and charges, a refund will only be paid once the package is returned safely to us, and minus the initial shipping cost, and the return shipping cost.

Packaging

All Mylar Shop products are packaged with care, using the best quality materials, to ensure they reach you in perfect condition.

We use postal tubes for our largest bags as well as Jiffy padded mailer bags. Large or heavy orders are sent in heavy duty cardboard boxes. Oxygen absorbers are also shipped in padded mailer bags, to prevent damage to the vacuum sealed bag that contains them.

We try to keep packaging to a minimum, to save you on postage and shipping costs.

Return, Refund and Cancellation Policy

Mylar Shop will accept all refunds for items sent back to us within 14 days of delivery. The items must be in the same state we sent them out in and the customer will be expected, in the case of returns due to customer error, to pay for the shipping back to us. Shipping costs are not refunded where orders are returned due to customer error.

Returned orders are generally refunded via the payment method used on the order, and to the card, PayPal account or bank account used to make the payment. The refund shall take no longer than 7 working days to be processed (usually immediate). All of Mylar Shops’ customers have the right to cancel their order any time up to the point that the order is dispatched. Cancelled orders shall be refunded to the card, PayPal account or bank account used to make the payment.

Our Guarantee

Mylar Shop will re-send or refund any order sent using a SIGNED FOR delivery method if you have not received it in 1 month from the dispatch date. Most orders will be delivered much before this limit. If your order comes to greater than £20, we strongly recommend opting for International Signed For or Courier delivery.
